If you just go back 24 hours from now, you will see what you see below in the pictures.. a perfect rainy day to be out and about! 24 hours later we are under 8 (or may be more) inches of snow.. tied up inside our homes wearing the same PJs from last night! Breakfast and Lunch happened to be in bed.. God knows about Dinner!
Yesterday was so perfect.. Truth be said, my Sunday went better than Saturday (which seldom happens)! Well, anyways.. I will always look at this post and remember how me and husband spent this day doing stupid things we never thought of!

In regards with outfit, 'White' is my go-to these days! It blends so well with the nature, I feel like getting lost in the world.. Again I am blocking colors here.. White and blue - waist up. Khaki and green - waist down! It was fun dressing that way.. Strangers kept complimenting me yesterday! And who said blue and green don't go well together? Bring'em to me!

Choose your Khaki Pants

History - Sir Harry Lumsden is widely credited with giving us what we now consider the khaki pant.  In 1846 he was commanding a British Army troop of Indian recruits, and according to legend, ordered their white trousers dyed to better blend with the local terrain.  Mazari, a native plant was used to achieve the color called  khaki, also the Hindu word for “dust”.
After World War II, their good looks brought them, as surplus, to widespread civilian use and manufacture. Today there are hundreds, if not thousands, of varieties of khakis, from pajama-like drawstring jobs to your aforementioned Capitoline pleated, permanent-press “dorkers.”

Length - Length, and whether to roll-up cuffs or not is all personal preference. But here is my take - if your khaki's are too long take them to a tailor.  Just be specific about what you want though, or you may end up with a creepy little jean hem on your khakis.  Go for a deep fold-over hem, or just cut ‘em off and let them fray naturally, if that’s how you like.
And if you’re vertically challenged or just have shorter legs, beware of rolling your khakis too high– it will only draw attention towards your short legs.

Cut - I suggest - avoid pleats. To up your game with khakis you’ll need to focus on fit. Straight-leg varieties are the most conventional and comfortable, while slim-cut versions, with a slightly low rise, are the most modern. Both types should skim your hips, and the fly should sit naturally.”
I like a cleaner fit, but don’t want to look like I’m wearing leggings. Again, personal preference and body type is the key, so go with what looks and feels the best.

Fabric - 100% cotton. No nylon, lycra, or rayon please. In general, try to avoid anything and everything that says– Stretch or Easy Care. Cotton twills are great year-round and lighter weight poplins are perfect for spring and summer.

Cuffs -  The Duke of Windsor popularized the look by turning-up the bottoms of his khakis (called turn-ups, across the pond)– that’s how cuffed bottoms came into popularity.  And surely you’ve noticed that formal trousers and tuxedo bottoms are never cuffed– considered a faux pas, too casual and completely unacceptable.

I’m a lover of Khakis. The Khakis I own are soft, with a luxurious fabric and an easy stretch. Paired them with printed button down and neutral heels here, polished the look with an elegant stand-out bag and red lips.

Top 10 Fall 2012 Trends

Yeh, another Fall 2012 post!

The new season has unveiled new trends, new colors and shapes when it comes to fashion and it seems that the new wave of trends are all about making a statement.
The number of Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 fashion trends is large which makes it possible for every fashion-conscious girl to find something to her taste.
This fall season is all about variety, so check out the latest fashion trends spotted on the runway and find out which styles should not miss from your fall 2012 wardrobe!

1. Military - It is surprising how fashion keeps changing all the time as the military trend is getting more and more popular with fashionistas who used to love feminine and delicate designs. Every designer from Victoria Beckham to Salvatore Ferragamo has demonstrated their works inspired by military trend.

2. Leather - Nothing screams elegance, luxury and timeless classicism more than leather. Leather is always in fashion but it usually gets trendier with colder seasons approaching. A complete head-to-toe leather look is very popular this season. You can create amazing and chic looks using all kinds of colors in leather.

3. Peplum - Peplums were quite popular this summer and will continue to be trendy during this Fall season as well. However new peplums are darker and classier.

4. Knits - Keeping well into the comfort zone is a must especially when it comes to casual wear. And now, with knits as a trend, there are plenty of knitted items available, in all possible colors, prints and lengths.

5. Whites - Who says you can't wear white after Labor Day? This fall season will have a big chunk of winter white.

6. Burgundy - The rich, wine color is “the new black". The bold, bordeaux hue took every form on the fall runways: as tailored pant suits, draped evening gowns, oversized coats, and much more. Embrace burgundy this year, and jettison the traditional (and boring) autumn tones, like brown and army green.

7. Menswear Inspired - The suit or the masculine inspired look has made its presence felt since last year's fall season and it seems that this year the look is yet again on top of the trends as nothing can top the fierceness and classy look a perfectly tailored suit can bring. Paired with a cool shirt and with the right attitude, you can make heads turn!

8. Over-sized coats and pockets - The bigger the better, however, over-sized coats have a high impact over one's look, so learn how to rock this oh-so-fab coat as this year it will be everywhere!

9. Metallic Gold - One of the trends for the fall collections was metallic gold, or we can say, if the evening wear on the New York runways had a single theme, it was gold, with gowns rendered in liquid-like metallic that practically dripped off the catwalk. 

10. Pattern - Besides zoological prints, like leopard and python, to which we are already accustomed, watch for swirls of geometric patterns on suits, dresses, jackets, tops, skirts, and pants.

Fall Colors

With the arrival of Fall, who doesn't like to dress up in typical fall colors!

I was out and about for some furniture shopping when I wore this fall outfit. Though Phoenix is enjoying some rains now, but definitely not fall. Even then, who is going to stop me from wearing the colors I like??

P.S. I love the bib kind of sequined pattern on this blouse. That's my favorite part, however, this blouse happens to be quite old now!
