Red and White

I have a good news to share with you all today! I recently got promoted as a Team Manager.. Yiiikkess!! I know.. thankyou!  And that kept me occupied for this whole week, now that the initial dust has settled, I could take some time out of my "team managing schedule" and have a chit-chat with you all!

As much as I enjoy looking at these pictures (below), we were loaded with lots of snow again! I think I am done with all of it! I am in dire need of bringing my skirts back in sun! Last weekend, the weather mellowed down a little and hence I pulled out one of the skirts lying there in dust (in my closet) and put it on!
We (Moi and husband) went city surfing (since we are new to the city!) and man we loved the metro rides, the downtown restaurants and shopping malls!! There is so much to do.. wowww..

We are still figuring out places here and we love being tourists in our own city. Can't wait enough for Spring to see how the city looks with all the leaves and greenery back in place!
Are you all excited for Spring?? I know I am :)
P.S. My Indian readers/friends are already enjoying the Spring season! Love you all..

Cheers!!
Ritika..

White Valentine

Disclaimer: Picture heavy post

It was quite a relaxing Valentine for us this year. Like every time we went out for a dinner and a long walk after that.. However, this time the outside temperature wasn't much in our favor, but who cares! We still went for a (short) walk by the Waterfront in our city and came back home feeling all refreshed and cool!
This has to be my first Valentine when the background was all white (covered in snow), and the temperature was freezing! Anyways, it was a relaxing weekend after that, since we managed to watch a movie (after soooo long) and shop a little.

Coming to the outfit, I wanted to dress up a little for our special dinner night, hence I played up with an over-sized color-block sweater and my favorite geo printed mini-skirt. Of course you gotta add winter leggings to stay warm in such weather!
The red coat in these pictures is another one of my favorites! It matched perfectly with the black, red and white colors in the outfit.
I also added a chunky watch and black leather boots (which are a must these days).
P.S. I don’t remember when was the last time I wore my open toed sandals..!! Ha! I miss'em. But I am hopeful for spring..

You are welcome to enjoy a few candid shots from the night and thanks to my lovely sister-in-law for taking a couple of pictures!

Cheers!

Another Day, Another Dress

Hello everyone! It feels good to be back on this page after almost two weeks. Such breaks are not bad at all, after all who doesn’t enjoy a little time off?
Truth be told, this short break was completely unintentional as I was very busy in arranging stuff, shopping, attending countless weddings, packing bags and then finally flying back to Phoenix. I barely had the time to switch my computer on and write a blog! Anyhow, better late than never..
So, if you don't follow Rising Colors on Facebook yet, (which you totally SHOULD), you would not know that we flew back to Phoenix this weekend and that is how our 6 week-long vacation in India came to an end.. I was busy packing last week and this week unpacking is killing me (On that note, packing and unpacking are the two activities I completely DISLIKE)..
Anyways.. I am keeping it short today, though believe me I have so, so much to share with you all. I ‘ll be back with a lot of updates from my India trip.

On the outfit part, I wore this lovely Anarkali dress for a wedding in Delhi. This is one of my many purchases from India. I love the frock style cut of this dress, and the fact it is pure cotton makes it even more comfortable. The high collar adds an extra oomph to the outfit. Enjoy a few pics (and excuse the quality of the pictures, as these were not clicked with a very good camera).
P.S. Meet my sister-in-law (last picture) who has accompanied us to Phoenix. I look forward to spend great time with her!

Cheers!

San Diego - Sea World

Hello friends, I am back from an amazing vacation. It was a lovely 2 day road trip to San Diego – America’s finest city. Had a wonderful time and lots of fun! I have been to Sea World before, however loved going there once again. I may never get bored going there, I think! My all-time favorites are the playful Dolphins and the super-funny, super entertaining Sea Lions show. Can play with dolphins for hours and never get tired. They are really intelligent and friendly creatures. And the Sea Lions show was the most funny (live) show I have ever seen! The host was incredible! I personally wanted to congratulate him after the show, but could not, well may be next time!
Here are some pictures from the day!

P.S. Truth be told, I am as lazy as I was before leaving for the mini-vacation! (Don’t know how people feel relaxed/rejuvenated after coming from back from vacations?? I feel more relaxed when I am on my vacation, right there, in the moment and not when I am back! Sigh!!!)

Our first stop at Yuma, where we ate at this beautiful Mexican restaurant. Below are few pictures from the restaurant
Reached our hotel and took some shots in the room. It was 12:30 at night, but we were not sleepy!
Next morning - Reached Sea World for a day full of fun!

Didn't I say they are cute! OK, super cute!
A fabulous show and it's performers
Whales - and yes, they were trained too! What fun to watch them!
I always say this - GOD is the best artist! Forever!

Cheers
Ritika

Sea World

My vacation turned out so well that even now I am in the vacation mode/mood. (Just saying..)!!
We went to Sea World the next day we reached San Diego. The sun did shine pretty well during the day, though the mornings and evenings were chilly. We left our hotel as early as 9 am and were standing in the queue for tickets by 9:30.

As we entered, we were delighted to see the Christmas decorations. We clicked few pictures there, then studied our map and headed to the rides and shows!
To mention a few, the best attraction was 'Shamu' and all the dolphins. They were so damn playful. They jumped, dived, obeyed, smiled, danced, kissed, posed and what not! Never knew this side of their nature. They are so very cute!
I simply wanted to take them home. I only wish I could…

Other than that, we also enjoyed several aerial and water rides, and spent rest of our time watching and playing with different kinds of marine creatures.

Let me warn you, this is a picture heavy post, as I could not resist posting few good pictures from our visit.

P.S. Have you ever been to Sea World (or plan to visit)? What did you like the most? Share with me.
