Weekend Ramblings

It was a crappy weekend for us.. It kept raining (non-stop all Saturday and Sunday).. It was all wet and slippery outside, it was cold, no sunshine.. so cloudy and dark all the time. We did not feel like stepping out of the house at all. But we still managed to watch a movie - The Grand Budapest Hotel. Loved the movie - a nice watch..
Then on Sunday dear husband fell ill (thanks to the ever changing weather.. blah..). As if that was not enough, for an hour the rain turned in to snow and then (thankfully) back to rain.. Arghhhh it was craaazzzyyy.. I am tired of this weather now.. I miss Phoenix badly! No one told us before moving here that the weather is 'this' crazy here.. I hate when my weekends are wasted like that!! (That's when I am the most productive, you see!).

Well so we are back to normalcy on Monday. Hubbs is still re-covering and not quite well.. My poor guy..
This is all we managed to click on Saturday when we went out for the movie and dinner. Those white dots on my clothes and hat are nothing but water droplets from rain!
I think after a very, very long time I am wearing an all black outfit (well, not 'all black' technically, but still)! I just didn't feel like dressing up at all.. It was so depressing :(
The pictures did not turn out so great.. but I still wanted to post them.. (Because I can..)!! ;)
Have a nice week y'all..

Cheers
Ritika..

Try Bold

Why not try bold this spring? And bold bottoms are even better! Going bare legs is still a challenge (which I don't wanna accept), so why not go the other route and try big bold patterns for bottoms! I am all in.. well are you..??

Also this is one of the coolest hats I own. I have a 'thing' for hats! I love collecting them - different kinds and colors. More on that in some other post..
We had lots of fun clicking these pictures, hope you all enjoy them too!

Cheers

Plaid - The Power Player

The first thought which comes to my mind when I look at the Plaid print is 'royal'. I don't know why, but I really find this print very polished.. and timeless.. and royal. So I did a little bit of research on it. And guess what, I was right!

Plaid came into limelight back in the 17th century as a signature in Scottish society. It was actually a symbol for rebellion against England due to which it was banned for like four decades! (37 years to be precise) And wearing plaid after the Scottish rebellion in 1746 was forbidden!
Well, only after the ban was lifted, the print started to get more attention and become more popular.
So here we are.. with one of an evergreen print.. which undoubtedly has come a very long way! And looks like it's certainly going to stay for no less then equally long period.

The market gets flooded with plaid print specially during the autumn/winter season. And if you want to know the reason - it's because plaid was initially manufactured as Tartan, which was a woolen cloth variety. And people wore it during the colder months - so the notion still exists!
If you ask me, I love long coats with plaid print. They are so timeless, so classic! And plaid shirts similarly like denim have become a universal item of clothing - and why not, it is so versatile, it can be worn with typically everything in your closet! So just go on, and try it..

Hmphh.. So that's all about plaid I know of!

Cheers!

Casual Get-up

I love the month of July. Reason - Its my birth month. And I am a true Cancerian.
Now, my birthday is approaching soon and I am ready to accept the gifts, showers of blessings, etc. from all my loved ones.
On other subject, my husband loves playing cricket. Every weekend he plays early morning cricket with his team. This Saturday he got hit by the ball on his back and hence he came back home with a muscle cramp. More than feeling pity on him, I was angry at him. I was like - "why the hell in the world you have to play this stupid game! You always come up with wounds at new places!"

But hours later, when my temper cooled down, I thought to myself, had the mothers and wives of Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly thought the same ways, they would not have been such maestros in their fields.
Not that I am saying, my husband would become one now, its just that wounds and bruises are part of life. If you don't fall, how will you learn to rise.
Well, my anger then fumed away and I was all fine.

In the evening, I said to him, "Now, that you are bruised, what about our weekend plans?"
Hubby - "Who says I can't take you out? I am all fit and fine for you! Go dress up, let's go and have gol gappas!"
Me - "Who dresses up just to have gol gappas? I will go as it is, in my casuals :-\"
Hubby - "Fine by me. You look hot in everything!"
Me - (Shy and Smiling)..

We then went out and had amazing street food (who wouldn't when Delhi is famous for it).
Check out the pictures below from my casual day out! And mind you, the next day I went to watch Spiderman and did some shopping too! No doubt my man is a super hero! Fit & Fine for me!! Always.

Cheers
Ritika
