Love thy Lace

These are the last few pictures left to be posted from my India trip. It was another beautiful evening when I attended a wedding with my family in New Delhi. Not only I miss the food, I miss all the fun I had there.
Anyhow, this is what I wore to the wedding. It’s a black shift dress which I paired with black leggings, I don’t know why but I was in a mood of going with a monochromatic look that evening. And then I jazzed the outfit up by adding the chunky neckpiece which my mom-in-law gifted (just so you know, she has a wonderful taste in jewelry).
On a different topic, I have a big news to share with you all, which I am saving for the next post! Stay tuned for it..

Hope you are enjoying the holiday season and eating fresh and delicious food.. Don’t forget to stay fit and healthy!
Happy Holidays..

Cheers!

Mellow Yellow

I am (very) happy to see such a positive response on my previous post. More than that, I am glad that there are other bloggers/women out there who agree with me! Great minds think alike.. {wink! wink!}

So coming back to our today’s post – since my last post was quite heavy (for some), I am keeping this one light! You are welcome..

In current news, we are flying to India TODAY! {happy dance}.. In a few hours I’ll be thousands of miles away.. far, far away from Phoenix.. However, the bad part is the hideously long journey, which feels like it's never gonna end.. blah..! And the best part is our parents would be waiting for us at the airport with their arms stretched out - wide open to absorb us in a bear tight hug! Oh, I can't wait for that moment...
For now, this is a six-week trip. Let’s see what future holds in for us next!

Anyways, I have been quite busy packing for the past two days (on that note, sometimes I think, 20 percent of my life has been spent alone in packing for trips…!!). And since this is such a long trip, obviously I had to turn my closet upside down to see what all I can squeeze in! And while doing that, I found so many hidden treasures waiting for their debut.. and this bright yellow dress happened to be one of them! It was a thrift find and the moment I came home with it (like a lottery winner), I hanged it in my closet to wear it on a special occasion. And like always, that special occasion never came and doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon! Finally this weekend, I decided to wear this dress and go shopping all by myself (you know, the last minute shopping before a long travel..). And what a lovely day it was.. I also got quite a few compliments (yes, again) by strangers!

Leaving you with this quote -
“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” - Susan Sontag
Enjoy the pictures! See you in India..!!

Cheers!

This & That - 3

Hey everyone! I am back with a few random things which are on my mind lately..
  1. I am too much inclined towards the ‘burgundy color lately. Fall-effect may be.. I bought these burgundy pants the other day and I can already see myself wearing them to pieces.
  2. These days, I am reading three books simultaneously. And all three of them are fiction. I am surprised myself that am actually enjoying it and not mixing it all up!
  3. Surprisingly this (jumpsuit) post went viral on my FB page. Everyone seemed to love it, well, thank you all.. :-)
  4. We are going to India next month (yay..!!) and that is why I can’t wait enough for October anymore..
  5. I was (am) a big fan of the Twilight series. I did watch all the movies when they released. And now I am reading the books, needless to say, I'm in love with Edward Cullen all over again.. I think it was a good idea to watch the movies first since the books are very dense and the romance of the lead couple is very intensely written. Books are better any day! You agree?

Cheers!

Dot Com

Normally when I wear a bodycon (read ‘sexy’) dress like this, I automatically tend to choose sexy stiletto heels to go with it. Guess that’s my personal style – the way I like to dress up, in a feminine and classic way.

So when I opted to wear ankle length boots with this dress, I felt completely different. I was not feeling my usual feminine self, rather quite edgy. You know, I look at people (and bloggers) who sport bohemian and edgy style so effortlessly.. it’s very fascinating to me, so today I thought why not dress up that way! Needless to say the husband was all over me – flirting all the time.. and kept teasing me saying "You only need an electric guitar and you are ready to perform on a stage!" LOL..

On other note, I am very much in a Fall mood specially after returning from Canada, where I was lucky enough to experience much colder weather than Phoenix at this time of the year, however, Fall seems to be nowhere in the plan for another month over here. Anyways, I am traveling next month again. and hope the weather over there would be better than Phoenix :-D

You might have seen me wearing this dress earlier here.

Cheers!

This & That - 2

I am back with another post of This & That while enjoying the long weekend here in U.S. Few random things I am sharing with you all today -
  1. While most of our friends are spending their long weekend travelling, we are spending this weekend at home. Since mid of this week I have travel plans to another country. And did I mention I am traveling alone..
  2. As I mentioned in my FB post, I watched 'Satyagraha' (an Indian movie) today. Well, it was a good watch - but I expected more.
  3. I purchased a beautiful badass leather jacket from Wilsons Leather few weeks ago. Though I am not a big fan of winters, this time I can't wait enough for the weather to chill down..
  4. We are also planning a trip to India next month. It's going to be hell lot of fun!
  5. I love Almond Butter. I can have it all day (but obviously, I don't).
  6. Though cats never leave me, but I am certainly a dog person. I want to have a dog so badly, however, I just can't (well, given the current circumstances)..
  7. And lastly, I wore this dress on a shopping date with husband. Easy-peasy.. Best decision ever!

Cheers!

A-Line

My husband plays cricket. And he loves his game.. and for the past few weekends (three to be precise), he has been sneaking out on Saturday evenings for his (four hour long) games. Well, then on such weekends, I am all by myself - free to experiment something in the kitchen, or go shopping to my favorite mall, treat myself with a relaxing pedicure, or simply sit in a coffee shop with a book and sip my favorite mocha!

So this weekend, I made a point (very firmly) that my loving husband spends this complete Saturday with me (and only me).
Now that my point was made, we went out for a daytime date. We had a sumptuous lunch at our favorite chinese place, watched a movie (which we have been wanting to see for about a month), and spent a lovely long evening sitting and chatting at our favorite coffee place, watching the sun go down. Such are the perfect weekends...

Anyhow, while dressing up, I was feeling all girly but wanted to keep it comfortable, so I chose this light A-Line denim dress with a flattering cut and fit. I kept the makeup minimum with a matte lipstick. Sunglasses are a must in Phoenix heat (which I hope you know by now). Also I have been wanting to wear these new pair of Converse sandals and thought it was a good day to try them out! So how was your weekend pals?...

Cheers!

Vegas Part III - Double Take

Read Vegas Part I | Vegas Part II

It’s one of those days, when life seems slow, when everything and everyone seems unpleasant. The thing is my mother and sister who graced us with their sheer presence for the past one good month, went back today. It was so hard to leave them at the airport and say good-bye’s.
Not that I did not know that this day was ought to come, it’s just that I did not want it to be this tough. The past few days of this week so crazily busy (last minute shopping, packing etc.) that I had no time so sit and blog.

Well, now since they are back on their way to India, I am collecting myself together and making myself ready to bring my life back to normalcy (since the fancy days are over).
So, this is the third (and the last) part of the Vegas trip. The last day in Vegas was spent equally amazing with friends and family. We spent the first half of the day in Madame Tussauds museum. It was a super-hot, super-sunny weekend, hence we wanted to stay indoors. After visiting the museum, we had our lunch at Origin India (for which I can vouch that it was the best Indian food I have ever had in U.S.)! The hot and fresh food served in their lunch buffet was unmatchable!

Then we were off to the roads (back to Phoenix). On our way, came these breath-taking-ly beautiful mountains and we could not help but stop there for a while and experience one of the most beautiful sunsets ever! We sat there, clicked pictures, climbed up the car, posed for pictures, did stupid things, joked, laughed, made fun of each other - right there – in the mid of that picturesque landscape.

From a short mini-skirt I switched over to my Hilfiger Polo dress. Why? – Because ‘comfort’ is the key while traveling for me!

P.S. Love you mother ~~ Miss you so much ~~ Nothing and no-one can fill your presence here..

Cheers!
