Share - In - Style: Short Story

Happy Friday people! Today I am joining the fabulous Share - In - Style series (started by Aminta and Sacramento) with few fabulous other bloggers!
In this series, all the participant bloggers share their personal style with a common theme. And today, I am sharing this post with Sugar from Sugar Lane (isn't she adorable..!!). Don't forget to check her blog too! Well, it's been 8 weeks since the series started and the theme of today's post is 'Shorts'.

It's fun when you are given a theme to style your look around. Since, I have always been a free bird when it comes to dressing up, I enjoyed putting up a look together for this special Friday post!
And I am mixing prints again today - though with shorts and peplum!

Other amazing participants of these series are -
Aminta from Aminta Online, Courtney from Cupcake Obsessions, Sacramento from Mis Papelicos, Catherine from Not Dressed as Lamb and the list is huge..
(P.S. Email me if you would like to join this fun series..)

And this is how Sugar styled her shorts -

Cheers!

Let it Rain

It was 5 in the evening. I sat in my car. It was dark and cloudy, it looked as if the clouds are about to touch down earth! Tiny drops of water started falling on my windshield. I was amused to see it.

Sitting in my car, I called my husband (who was still working in office) – ‘Honey, you won’t believe it! Guess what?”
And before he could reply, I snapped, in a very cheerful voice – “It’s raining outside! Though very tiny droplets are falling, but still everything is looking so beautiful. When are you gonna come home?”
(Yes, you are allowed to become so happy when you live in a desert. Rain is very special to us)!

Husband: “Yeah, I know It’s raining. I can see from my office window. Looks pretty! But I can’t leave right now. I have work to complete.”

Me: “Oh! Well, then see you at home! Love you. Bye!”

I turned my car ignition on and plugged in my iPhone to the music system tuning in to my favorite rain song and drove the car off the parking lot. I was enjoying every bit of the moment.
As I was about to reach home, a sudden urge of drinking a hot mocha came through! And before I knew I  was driving towards the Drive-through lanes of Starbucks.

I reached home finally. It was pouring by then! Like they say – it was raining cats and dogs. I parked my car in its usual parking space and called husband again – “Hey, where are you?”

Husband: “I'm at home. Where are you, since you left before me?”

Me: “Yes, I did, but then I went to grab a cup of coffee since the weather is so pleasant. I wanted to have one!”

Husband: “Ok, so where are you now?”

Me: "I am right outside. Sitting in the car.."

Husband: “ What? Well, then why are still sitting in the car? Come inside! I am missing my lovely wife in this lovely weather!” (right, he never fails to let go any chance to flirt with me)!

Me: “Yeah, I love you too, but I can’t come in! It’s raining so hard, I will get drenched the moment I step out of the car!”

Husband: “So what! I thought you loved rains and you will look hot too!!” (see, flirting again)..

Me: “I do! But I don’t want to spoil this nice dress that I’m wearing plus these shoes are definitely not made to be soaked in water!”

By this time he came out in the patio and was laughing hard looking at me – as I was running in my heels towards the house. He was enjoying it!

I entered home, dropped my bags, threw my heels in the air, changed in to my sexy shorts and a tee. In less than a minute I was out of the house again! He was still in the patio enjoying the rain.. I finally got to get drenched! I danced, sang and laughed! It was amazing.. loved it!

Husband was still standing, laughing at me and clicking pictures from his phone! I was singing, dancing and sipping my favorite mocha! What’s not to love!

There are very few unplanned things in life make that you smile, make you happy! Don’t let go such moments! Live them.. to the fullest.
I love rains and I loved that evening...

~ The best thing you can do when it's raining is to Let it ~

Cheers!

LA Part I : Universal Studios Hollywood

I can say this with my (somewhat little) experience that the best things in life happen unplanned. Similarly this vacation was not completely planned. We had to leave on Wednesday and we were not sure if we are going or spending the long weekend at home itself.
But then the day, we decided in a rush, booked hotel online before leaving, packed bags quickly and left.

After driving for non-stop for 7 hours, we reached Los Angeles - our destination. It was midnight. The next day was going to be a long and tiring one hence we needed to catch some sound sleep. The next morning we left the hotel to spend the day at Universal Studios Hollywood. Though I have been to the Universal Studios in Orlando earlier, but this one was different. My favorite ride will always be ‘ Revenge of the The Mummy’ – Love it!

We had an amazing time with friends. I say it again – the best things in life are the unplanned ones!

Vegas Part I - Smile be there

We love road trips. By ‘we’ I mean, me, my husband, and our lovely friends (who happen to be our colleagues too)! Hence, the fun doubles.. since we talk (well, ‘bitch’) about everything and everyone once we all get together! Crazy times!
We left for Las Vegas on Friday. I was happy since my mother and sister were accompanying us too! We reached there at 11 pm, checked in to our hotel - {here, let me brag a little} we stayed in the grand and very beautiful 'Caesars Palace'. (Ok bragging done)!

We quickly changed our comfortable travel clothes in to party outfits. And went clubbing and returned next morning at 5! Few of the pictures are not that good quality (sorry about that), since they were clicked by iPhones. But we enjoyed some finger-licking amazing food and dancing, and partying and shouting and .. well yeah.. much much more..

Since you know I love mixing prints, and by looking at these pictures, I think I am getting better at it! Paired my favorite cotton Hilfiger tunic with my most comfortable shorts. An unexpected but a comfortable and an eye-soothing combination!

Since we were traveling by road, and 6 hours of sitting in a car is not that good for your butts and back! LOL.. So I wanted to emphasize on the ‘comfort’ part. I wore no make-up (only sunscreen and kohl) with minimal jewelry. That's how I like to travel..

Cheers!

Fun in the Sunset

Today I bring you - the beautiful Phoenix sunset, my lovely mom, the evergreen Starbucks and my lovely sister (well, who was behind the camera all the time)! We clicked these pictures on a fine evening before I went missing from the blog!

Yes, thank you in case you noticed, well I was missing from the ‘Blogosphere’ for the past 6 days.. but I have a genuine reason for that (I always have one)! I was ‘vacationing’ in Las Vegas! Yes, yes, I was in Vegas for the past 3 days!! (right, you are allowed to feel jealous)..
As my husband keeps on saying – it’s the city of ‘Sins’. Well, I don’t disagree. It definitely is the city of sins! But we were there to have some good fun, and we did. My sweet sis was jumping around with joy all the time, since it was her dream come true! She was always wanted to visit Vegas!
And we loved the city! The city of lights, shows, gambling, partying, dancing and what not!
Soon, you shall be down-poured with tons of pictures clicked in Vegas, so be ready for that!

P.S. Did you know Las Vegas has a lot of nicknames like The Gambling Capital of the World, Sin City, The Entertainment Capital of the World, The Marriage Capital of the World etc.

Today I am playing with prints on the blog. I love doing it. Want proof? See here, here and here..
Match your two favorite printed pieces and voila! You are done! It always works.. trust me..

Cheers!

Take Charge of Your Life

The other day, one of my loyal and a very kind reader posted a comment on one of the my post which said - "Your life is very colorful"! (Thank you, dear reader!). As much as I was happy about reading it, it made me think what is so special in my life which makes it so colorful? Am I the chosen one or did I do something special to make things work in my life?

And the answer to all of the above is, actually it is ME who choses whether to live life happily or just crib about the problems around me. And that gives me the control over things I want to pay attention to in my life and neglect the ones which I don’t think will do any good to me (or deserves my time and attention).
Can we all do this? Of course we can. We all CAN solve our problems. No one else can do this for us. Make your life simpler and happier, if I may say, take the charge, TODAY!
As my mother always says – ‘Every problem has as Solution’. If God has thrown you in to a difficult situation, he wants you to climb up by helping yourself and not drown in it thinking that’s your destiny.

Whatever happens in our lives, happens for a reason and leaves us with good experience. 'YOU' choose whether to live with a problem or to eradicate it from your life completely!
I understand that all our lives are different and all our problems are different and I am no one to judge how complicated your life could be. But trust me, every problem has a solution. At the end of the day, it depends on us, how soon we raise our hand to help ourselves instead of just sit there and wait for a miracle to happen.

Take Charge. Today! And make your life colorful!

On the outfit - Keeping it plain and simple here, maintaining the focus on prints and shoes! Printed shorts are so much fun, by the way..!

Cheers
Ritika
